  1. 1) Generally no. A license is required in some places (like a harbor, but not all harbors)
2)You can take it wherever you like, the restrictions are the same as if you were flying there, some countries require a visa, you MUST have a passport and MUST report to immigration upon arrival.
    3) There is no other hobby that will suck the money out of you faster than “playing boat”.

  3. unless you are a super yachtsman i would not travel very far. That boat is not big enough to handle serious waves. No liscence is needed and mooring fees insurance isnt that exspensive

  5. You do not really give enough information for a complete answer. Where are you? Where do you plan on sailing?
18-20 foot sailboats are small for open seas voyages, not saying that is has not been done, its just that boats of this size are very sussecptible to capsizing or swamping in seas that can build in open oceans in many parts of the world.

  11. I love how you have no prior boating knowledge whatsoever, and the first thing you want to know is what countries you can sail to. Good luck out there on the open ocean.
