Maybe just to be safe, get liability to cover the months you will be using the boat.
Unless you plan on using it in a tournament, you don’t need it. Many bass fishing tournaments require you to have insurance due to the high costs of these boats. I had a 14 foot aluminum boat with a 6 hp Johnson outboard. The only thing required was that the trailer had to be registered.
i have a 16ft aluminum with a 25 , its not required to have insurance, pretty sure its your choice. may depend on the state though …..
