What Options Do I Have After Cats Lived In My Winterized Boat For 6 Months (urine, Fecal Matter Nightmare)?
Cats were living in my boat over the winter and it is just destroyed! They peed, pooped and left rabbit carcuses everywhere! I know the best option will be to replace the carpet and possibly do some reupholstering, but that’s going to be expensive. The boat is 20-years old with a brand new motor, and is (other than the cat damage) in new condition. I’m still waiting to hear from my insurance company but my gut feeling is that I’ll be S.O.L. and stuck footing the bill for repairs. I’ll leave the name of the insurance company out of this email but can anyone tell me of a good company to be insured with? I’ve had trouble in the past with this company and probably should have went elsewhere. I need a “no questions asked, we’ll write a check for the repairs” kind of insurance company because I’ve had to fight for any claims submitted in the past.

Call fire and water damage Restoration people, They
clean everything and well too.. Good Luck. Get Rid of
the cats . at least you didnt have mice..
the best way is to boat train them and plenty of cat-litter
Lock the cats in the boat, THEN sink the boat. Don’t sink it first.
Boat US insurance is real good. Never had to file a claim. They only insure boats, I hear they are fair. I hope never to have a claim. My boat would be damaged, ouch!
The cat damage, call a restoration cleaning company. They will clean what they can. No insurance company has a no questions asked. Then will write a check for repairs. They always have an adjuster come out to inspect the damage.
step 1: sink boat
step 2: file insurance claim
step 3: buy new boat
step 4: kill cats
Great above answer’s when ya need help right ? I would get some particle masks (hdw. store), some trash bags, disposable gloves, bleach, rags. Start the clean up and see where you are when you are done, lots of times it’s worse than it looks, I use all state ins. I never submitted a claim though, that’s why it’’s important to check the boat over the winter even though it’s freezing out, clean up sux but, it’s your boat, so at least you know the job will get done right. Good Luck !
pressure washer preferably hot water, gloves mask and disposable overalls, and a lot of hard work scrub scrub scrub check condition after that, then change insurance company, if it is your boat and you love it then you know the time and effort is worth it good luck
