My boyfriend’s mother tragically died in July from an accidental overdose of pain medication and also I believe alot of stress brought on by her ex-husband. I’m not claiming that my boyfriend was an angel, however he was there for and had a genuine and sincere love for her as I witnessed him many times trying to convince her to stop taking the medications she was on. I was witness to all of the hell her ex-husband put her through and also being their neigbor since I was a kid am aware that he was not a good father, only around to use her. She I guess forgot to change him as the beneficiary on her life insurance even though I heard her say constantly that she couldn’t wait to take him off because I see him now aquiring more things, a car, a boat.
She had divorced him about a week prior to her death and somehow he also acquired the house that she worked so hard to pay for. She was an admirable lady in the military for years until she started working for the post office. She worked so hard to be able to leave her kids with something.
My question is her son, my boyfriend, whom doesn’t get along with his father and vise verse is currently in jail on marijuana charges and feels that since his dad may have been the beneficiary on her life insurance, he spend all of this money before he gets out. If this is the case and he was the primary beneficiary does he get all of this money even if her son was like lets say secondary beneficiary? Or does that only happen if the primary beneficiary were to pass away? Also, when he gets out he is going to try to look in to this whole thing. I’m just wondering how difficult this will be for him to do. I’m wondering if there may be laws such as HIPAA that would prohibit him from aquiring such information in the event that he is not even listed as a beneficiary on her policy.
I wish that this policy never even existed to be honest with you. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that this guy that used her and made her life miserable and in my opinion somewhat contributed to her demise is benfiting from her death and also it makes me sick that when my boyfriend does get out he’s going to have to look into all of this with possibly no outcome. I’m so stressed out and so is he. I was just wondering if anyone could help me with this. Thanks so much for your time-

My house was burglarized. The crack head got away but without my property I caught him . He left on a bike he’s no kid in his thirties.The problem is he left the items at the side of my house he even took food out of my kitchen but getting back to the items that he left at the side of the house and even took my boat battery out of my boat.The items he left were my wife’s television .microwave I went to my insurance home owner $1000.00 deduct ale in which the items were worth I live on a fixed income and can’t afford it .The police took it all for evidence .I can’t heat my food up can’t go on my boat and my wife can’t watch her television her gold watch witch was only a Timex.HELP how do I get my stuff back.

Our boat almost sank – in fresh water. Got up to the dip stick on 3.0 mercruiser so water got into the oil. It did crank but oil immediately turned to milky foam. We drained the oil and pulled the filter off ASAP. What is the best way to rid the engine of all the water, old oil, & foam residue and what problems may linger? Also is this worth contacting my insurance agent about? Leak seems to be from out-drive seal gone bad.
