Replacement
My Mom Is 61 Yrs Old Does Not Have Insurance And Just Found Out She Needs A Hip Replacement. Need Advice.?
The doctor told her the surgery would cost approximately $30,000. My mom is a widow, is retired from heavy highway construction after 22 years, she is cannot work right now due to poor health. (she was working part-time with her brothers who are in the commercial fishing industry on Lake Michigan, but working on the boat at her age and health is too much, so now she doesn’t even have that income). Are there any options for her to get help for this surgery. She is not old enough for Medicare or Medicaid (not sure which it is, sorry). I’m trying to get educated here so I can find her some help. She’s in a lot of pain. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated or where we could go for help. And I don’t think she’s old enough for social security yet.

My Wife Needs A Knee Replacement, And I Think Our Money Could Be Better Spent On A New Truck Or Boat.?
She can still get around pretty well with a cane, and she can keep the house clean, and do the shopping. She says I am selfish. I am just trying to be practical. Our insurance won’t cover the surgery. Who is right?
