I’m Vacationing In Us And Want To Buy A Car & Drive It Back Home To Canada. What Do I Need To Do?

Does anyone have experience with (1) temporary plates and insurance in the US (as a non-resident), and (2) what happens at the CDN border in terms of taxes/customs/fees? I want to buy an RV there. Approx value expected to be about $5000. Thanks!
