Why Do Auto Insurance Company Need Your Date Of Birth And A Credit Check Before Getting Insurance?
My wife is annoyed at the fact as am I that first auto insurance is so damn high for women. Also we are annoyed at why they now want personal info like your date of birth and credit check. Why is it that it is this way? I think it is Stupid for credit checks always have.

Recently I was white water rafting and I took a pretty hard bump to my right side. The bump was NOT direct. Infact, it was indirect through the boat. Do You Know Of Any Auto Insurance Companies That Don’t Base Your Rates On Your Credit Report?
Due to an illness/ disability in our family, despite having health insurance, we still owe thousands in medical bills. Those that would not work with us turned them into collection. They now show on our credit report.
Despite being insured for both our auto insurance and our home insurance for 20+ year with the same insurance company, we got a notice saying our auto insurance had gone up hundreds of dollars per year based on a credit report they obtained. We have never had an accident, ticket, etc. and the amount automatically comes out of our checking each month. Plus, last year, prior to this, they switched us to a preferred group within the company and gave us a discount when we threatened to switch.
How can I find out which insurance companies base your insurance rates on your credit report and or score? Will they tell you outright? This is the first I have ever known that our company did this and was wondering if all of them do it, or do you just know about it when you get a notice like we did?
I get their reasoning but it seems like such a rip off when so many are in our boat- insured but with insurance that is starting to pay less and less and cost more. Plus, they have our checking account and if we were not to pay, they wouldn’t be responsible for us if we had an accident anyway. Seems like a double whammy to me. Can anyone help?

Would You Rather Be Dead, Or Abused For The Rest Of Your Life?
We have two pit bulls. When we retire, we are traveling in an rv & pits, and several other breeds are not allowed, no matter how sweet they are. We’ve been trying to find homes for them, but it looks pretty bleak.
I have consulted our veterinarian, who put me in touch with someone. She said that she’s had 3 friendly pits on the pit adoption website for 2 years. She advised me to put them down.
I’ve found a pit adoption website myself who have so many who weren’t abused as mine were before I got them. They aren’t being adopted because either your home owner’s insurance will skyrocket or be cancelled. The people who want pits want them for all the wrong reasons. One wanted one for a warehouse guard dog. From my experience people who have guard dogs starve & abuse them to make them mean, as they do for fighting dogs. Someone else wanted one to hunt hogs. She has all of her dogs in cages outside & only brings them out to hunt. If I can’t find someone who will treat them as pets, I’d rather put them down.
Footnote: we can’t afford to stay in this house after we retire. The rv is not really a choice.
